Award winning restaurant currently require an experienced Chef de Partie to assist with the running of this busy kitchen.

Working under direct control of the Head Chef and Sous Chef in his absence,
you will be responsible for one section of the kitchen; i.e. larder
You will be required to assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in design and preparation of new menus, as well being responsible for preparation and cooking of certain dishes on the menu
Assisted by one or a number of Commis Chefs, you will be partially responsible for monitoring and aiding their development through basic instruction and encouragement
You will be partially responsible for monitoring portion control and wastage levels
This is a hands on role for an up and coming chef, keen to promote their career within the quality end of the catering industry.

Your timekeeping should be exceptional and your approach to work based on what you can achieve that day rather than how long it is until you can go home

Responsible for a section in the kitchen, you will need to possess strong organisational and supervisory skills for management of day to day processes and junior staff
You will need to have excellent communication skills, patience when required and the ability to draw a line between work and play
You must have good level of spoken and written English
You must have NVQ level 2 or equivalent
You must have creative and imaginative approach to food production
You must be excellent team worker and be able to work well with senior staff

Four years experience working in the catering industry
One years experience as a Chef de Partie or Demi Chef de Partie in a similar environment
