A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a well-established accountancy practice in Leigh-on-Sea. This role is ideal for someone confident managing year-end work independently and supporting a varied client portfolio.
About the Role
You will take ownership of key accounting responsibilities, working closely with the Practice Partner and supporting a wide range of clients. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise, excellent accuracy, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare year-end accounts without supervision
Complete tax computations and support tax compliance
Prepare P11Ds
Manage and review nominal ledger accounts
Work across multiple accounting software packages (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
Support the Practice Partner with client queries, reporting, and technical issues
About You
You’ll bring strong technical accounting knowledge and confidence working within a busy practice environment.
You must have:
Extensive experience managing nominal ledger accounts
Strong practice background (minimum 3+ years preferred)
Comprehensive knowledge of Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and other accounting systems
Solid understanding of year-end processes and tax compliance
You may be:
QBE, part-qualified, or fully qualified
